The IACDE stands for international association of clothing designers and executives and brings together the world’s most talented apparel executives to form a global network of industry leaders. Founded in 1910, the IACDE has over 100 years of experience in the fashion business. The association is comprised of executives who come together to share knowledge, foster talent and breed passion for fine tailoring.

IACDE is the global professional platform for pattern designers, technical designers, technical engineers / product  developers, executives and suppliers of the clothing industry and  are committed to excellence and open the doors to anyone in the fashion and apparel industry worldwide..

We are a non-profit organization welcoming people from every discipline and culture who seek a deeper understanding of the clothing industry. All members of the executive committee engage without any financial incentive – all just for the benefit of the men’s tailoring industry.

The members of the IACDE are comprised of industry leaders from all areas of fashion. Below are just some of the experts that comprise our community.

Designers and merchandisers will create and lead new collections concepts for each fashion season. They work with the pattern designers to bring the concepts to life and with the manufacturers to execute them.

They are the engineers of the apparel development process. In close collaboration with the pattern design and manufacturing, they evaluate the feasibility and elaborate the workmanship of the product and make recommendations to find ways for an efficient manufacturing process.

As leaders of the manufacturing industry, these executives act as the main point of contact between the pattern designers and the technical developers/engineers.

As an architect, the pattern designer or technical designer is an essential contributor to the apparel industry. They determine the fit-construction and silhouette of the product. They effectively turn creative designs into wearable fashion.

The industrial members are, fabric,- lining, trim, or interlining-suppliers, as well as cad systems suppliers and manufactures of equipments such as pressing and sewing machines. They stay in close contact with the pattern designers and technical developers / engineers and manufacturing executives during the whole development process. They are the link between two industries, the supplies and clothing industry.
