IACDE German Chapter - Who we are:    

The IACDE is an international association of leading pattern designers (technical designers) and designers. Members of the IACDE German chapter mostly come from the European menswear industry.   Being responsible over the technical product development they are the creative partners of the product management.   Many international operating companies of the apparel industry have very similar problems concerning production - independent to the fashion profile of the manufacturer.  For this reason the IACDE Geman chapter offers a lively exchange about new techniques and procedures in the industrial apparel production. 

The manageable size of the chapter allows easy organising of lectures and excursions. New members are accepted when two active members - acting as sponsors - recommended him. With regard to the membership structure criteria such as competences, age etc. are taken into consideration. Many of the members maintain close contact with each other, perhaps as former colleagues or through the communicative activities of the German IACDE. Additional persons, the so-called associated members, come from related branches (manufacturers of fabrics, interlinings, linings etc.). These individuals are also accepted as members when they have sponsors. At the moment the club has more than 70 registered members. The 80% active participation in events of the IACDE is higher-than-average. Active membership is individual and cannot be acquired through the company where the person is employed.
