History
In 1911 the IACDE (International Association of Clothing Designers and Executives) was founded as the National Association of Clothing Designers (NACD) in Madison Square Garden in New York. In the year 1919 the internationalization of the NACD took place. The former national association developed into an international association. In addition to the chapters in the USA there are today chapters in Canada, Italy, Germany, Japan, Latin America, India and Mexico. The IACDE chapter in Germany was founded in 1975 initiated by several menswear manufacturers and other companies from related branches. The founders informed themselves about the intentions and aims of the IACDE on a visit to Baltimore/USA.
