Among other experts of the branch Joachim Hensch from Hugo Boss Textile Industries and Silvia Schoening representing the IACDE had been invited to speak about Industry 4.0 and about how to collaborate beyond national and competition borders.

The following trade show was organized by the African Cotton and Textile Industries Federation (ACTIF) with the collaboration of Enterprise Mauritius (EM) and the Mauritius Export Association (MEXA).

During the first two days, discussions focused on certification and technology. Delegates gave an overview of the textile sector and explored the challenges that the sector would face in the years to come. It was emphasized that improving working conditions, embracing collaboration and Technology and reducing environmental impacts through standards will further boost the sector.

A trend that is gaining more and more momentum in the industry is the "4.0 Industry" known as the 'SMART Factory'. According to the key note speakers of Origin Africa, with the use of new technologies and automation it is possible to develop better products and improve processes in manufacturing with high added value for both, manufacturers and customers.
